Presentation

Unable to close mouth. Clinically temporomandibular joint dislocation.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female

No change of the position of the mandibular condyle between open and closed views.

On both views the mandibular condyle lies anterior to the temporomandibular fossa.

An example of anterior dislocation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) with TMJ views, as opposed to an orthopantomogram (OPG).
