Post op alignment of the right TMJ replacement is anatomic. Bilateral maxillary and mandibular intermaxillary fixation screws noted. The patient is edentulous.

TMJ arthroplasty is a procedure gaining mainstream acceptance as the treatment for end stage TMJ dysfunction that has failed medical management. Common indications include:
osteoathritis
rheumatoid arthritis
post-traumatic condylar loss or injury
congenitial TMJ abnormalities
Specific complications include dislocation and malocclusion.
