Incidental finding on imaging for trauma reasons.

Age: 35
Gender: Male

Ct Brain (selected images)

Modality: CT

Small thin plate of fat density laying on the superior face of tentorium cerebelli.

MRI Brain (selected images)

Modality: MRI

Well defined fat lesion is again demonstrated on the tentorium cerebelli expressing high T1 and FLAIR signal.

Case Discussion

Intracranial lipomas are not tumours as such, but rather a result of abnormal differentiation of embryologic meninx primitiva. They represent a common benign incidental findings on brain imaging and generally can be ignored on reports.
