Tentorium cerebelli subdural hematoma

Case contributed by Dr Henry Knipe

Fall with headstrike.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Male

Thickening and hyperdensity of the right tentorium cerebelli in keeping with subdural hematoma.

Right tentorium cerebelli subdural hematoma is more easliy seen on these planes. No other acute intracranial hemorrhage identified. No hydrocephalus. No midline shift.

Case Discussion

Tentorium cerebelli subdural hematomas can be difficult to spot on axial plane due to the obliquity of the tentorium compared to the scanning plane. Reviewing all planes is important.
