Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

CT brain demonstrates an acute, left tentorial cerebelli subdural hematoma. The study is otherwise unremarkable with the intact cranium, facial bones and cervical spine. There are no other post-traumatic intracranial abnormalities present.

Case Discussion

Acute tentorial subdural hematomas can be subtle and difficult to diagnose especially when they are shallow or present with an asymmetric hyperattenuating tentorium cerebelli. In this instance, the hematoma is well identified and well demonstrated on the sagittal and coronal reformats. The patient was treated conservatively and recovery was uneventful.
