Patient Data

Age: 25

Left testicle has been excised and replaced by an ovoid (tesiticulform) prosthesis with hyperdense rim and water density centre.  Normal testis is of uniform soft tissue denisty.

Case Discussion

Testicular prostheses can be inserted following excision for cancer or torsion, or undescended testis are designed to mimic the size, shape and feel of a normal testis. Originally pure silicone they have now been replaced by a silicone envelope (hyperdense) filled with saline (water density) explaining the CT findings.
