Presentation
Kicked in the scrotum during sports game. Right scrotal tenderness on examination.
Patient Data

Irregular contour and heterogeneous echogenicity of the right testis
apparent herniation of testicular parenchyma through a defect in the superior pole tunica albuginea
decreased doppler flow to the herniated superior pole testis
small volume of right scrotal haematoma
left scrotum is unremarkable
Case Discussion
The patient in this case proceeded to surgical exploration, where the diagnosis of right testicular rupture was confirmed. Debridement and repair of the tunica albuginea were performed, and the testis appeared viable. Histopathology of the debrided tissue demonstrated extensive interstitial haemorrhage.
