Presentation
Painless right testicular mass
Patient Data
Well-defined ovoid right testicular mass isointense to the normal testicular tissue on T1, hypointense on T2 with punctate areas of high signal and restricted diffusion on DWI/ADC. The postcontrast sequences show a heterogeneous enhancement. No extension beyond the tunica vaginalis.
The left testis appears normal.
Small and bilateral inguinal lymph nodes (short axis <4 mm).
No distant metastasis or lymphadenopathy was seen on the chest and abdominopelvic CT (not shown).
Case Discussion
The MRI features are most consistent with a malignant testicular tumor (pathologically proven as testicular seminoma.
Testicular seminomas are a type of germ cell tumor and considered the most common testicular tumors, accounting for ~45% of all primary testicular tumors.
