Testicular torsion and infarction

Presentation

Right sided testicular pain, vomiting. Symptoms started one week ago.

Patient Data

Age: 12 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Right testis :  32 x 20 x 19 mm; vol 6.6 ml. 

  • loss of normal echopattern
  • few anechoic clefts are seen
  • no focal lesion is seen
  • no flow is noted

Moderate right hydrocele with echoes and thin septae.

Left  testis : normal is size - reflectivity - vascularity.

Case Discussion

Ultrasound findings of right testicular torsion and infarction.

Surgery within few hours confirmed a complete turns of the cord and infarcted testis.
