Forced dorsiflexion of the wrist in a cycling accident.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Male
mri

Contour defect and signal-rich hemorrhage in the ulnar portion of the TFCC. Effusion within the distal radio-ulnar joint. Normal bone signal.

Case Discussion

A tear in the ulnar part of the TFCC caused by acute trauma is classified as Palmer1b.
Treatment is usually conservative.
