Right thalamic small rather well defined lesion showing hyperintense T2 center with dark hemosiderin rim, with no related contrast enhancement, edema or mass effect.

Case Discussion

MRI demonstrating a characteristic “popcorn” or "berry" appearance with a rim of signal loss due to hemosiderin, which demonstrates prominent blooming on susceptibility weighted sequences (T2*). MR picture of pathognomonic of cerebral cavernoma
