Thenar eminence ganglion

Presentation

Gradually increasing nodule in the left thenar eminence for the last few months.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Well defined, thin walled, anechoic, non compressible, avascular lesion in the thenar eminence. It measures 19 x 9 x 8 mm. The lesion shows a proximal extension to the radial side of the carpal tunnel.  There is no sign of carpal tunnel syndrome.  There is no tenosynovitis.
