Pain and swelling of left palm near the thumb. History of wooden splinter injury at the site of tenderness in palm.

Irregular thick walled hypoechoic abscess with retained foreign body (wooden splinter). Additional ill defined hypoechoic area proximal to the abscess likely represents additional developing abscess. No intrinsic colour flow identified in both lesions. Adjacent soft tissue edema seen.
