Case Discussion

Point of care ultrasound has demonstrated reasonable sensitivity for Stanford type A dissections in several 1 studies, but cannot reliably assess the arch/descending aorta. Use of unconventional windows and imaging planes may be necessary, and depth must be optimised for the best possible visualisation.
