Thoracic aortic atherosclerosis

Presentation

High blood pressure.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Atheromatous plaques and calcification of the aortic valve, ascending aorta, aortic arch and descending aorta is noted which is not expected for the patient's age. 

Calcified plaque is also noted in the wall of brachiocephalic trunk.

Case Discussion

Thoracic aortic atherosclerosis is an important cause of severe morbidity and mortality.
