Presentation

Cough.

Patient Data

Age: 65
Gender: Female

Thoracic aortic silhouette is diffusely enlarged and ectatic. No cardiomegaly. Lungs and pleural spaces are clear. 

The patient was worked up with CT angiography (not available), and underwent a thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). 

TEVAR of the ascending aorta to descending aorta. Mitral valve replacement and sternotomy wires. 

Case Discussion

Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) offers a far less invasive approach to treating thoracic aortic pathology such as aneurysms, pseudoaneurysms and traumatic aortic injuries.
