Case Discussion

Careful attention must be given to thumb interphalangeal dislocations. Some case reports point out the fact that these dislocations may be irreducible by closed reduction due to the interposition of soft tissue structures. Most cases will require operative reduction and repeated attempts at closed reduction should be avoided.
