Thumb pulp abscess

Right thumb pulp region pain for 2-3 days. No trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Male

There is a collection (8 x 4 x 3 mm) in the thumb pulp. There is perifocal hypervascularity. Cortex of distal phalanx is normal. Flexure tendon is normal. There is no joint effusion.      

Case Discussion

Ultrasound findings suggested an abscess in the thumb pulp. Surgery revealed pus.
