7 days fever, severe abdominal pain and diarrhoea. C.Difficile negative. Tender RIF. Evidence toxic dilation/colitic bowel wall thickening?

Extensive thumbprinting of the distal transverse colon, in keeping with mucosal oedema. No bowel obstruction.

Case Discussion

Thumbprinting from mucosal oedema from colitis, which was subsequently confirmed on further investigation.
