Thyroid cartilage fracture

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Blunt trauma to the neck, patient complaining of pain and hoarseness of voice.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Male
ct

There is asymmetry of the thyroid cartilage, anterior angulation on the right side, with medial displacement of fragment.  It surrounded by mild soft tissue stranding with slight mass effect.

No hematoma, nor collection.

Case Discussion

Laryngeal trauma by direct blow with horseness of voice and asymmetry of thyroid cartilage, suggestive of thyroid cartilage fracture.
