3 cm thin walled cyst in the left lobe of the thyroid.
Mulitiple small echogenic foci within the nodule, some of which contain comet-tail artifact.
Case Discussion
The typical appearances of a thyroid colloid nodule with comet-tail artifact.
Comet tail artifact has been described in several other pathologies including in adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder and both ureteric and gallstones.
