Tibial nerve sheath tumor

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Right leg pain at distal a third posterior aspect. No trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
mri

There is a well defined, rounded mass measuring about 8 x 12 mm arising 55 mm above the ankle joint in the course of the tibial nerve posteriorly.

The mass shows homogenous T1 hypo and heterogenous T2 hyperintensity and relatively homogenous avid contrast enhancement.

Case Discussion

Appearance is consistent with a peripheral nerve sheath tumor of the tibial nerve.
