Coronal CT image shows mild depression of the tibial plateau, a finding consistent with a type I fracture.
A Schatzker type I fracture is a wedge-shaped pure cleavage fracture of the lateral tibial plateau (less than 4 mm of depression or displacement).
These fractures represent up to a quarter of all tibial plateau fractures and are more frequent in elderly patients due to osteopenia.
