There is a small well-defined lobulated mass (16 x 14 x 11 mm) of superficial right paramedian location of the ventral aspect of the mobile tongue. It elicits an isosignal to the extrinsic muscles on T1, very high signal on T2 with restricted diffusion and intense and homogeneous enhancement on postcontrast sequences.

Case Discussion

MRI features are most consistent with a hemangioma of the mobile tongue.

Tongue hemangiomas are considered as rare benign tumors which can produce cosmetic deformity, bleeding, functional difficulties during mastication, deglutition as well as speaking 1

Systemic or surgical treatment depends on the patient's age, size and location of the lesion as well as the evolution stage 1.
