Torus palatinus

Case contributed by Dr Chris O'Donnell

Noticed hard lump in central roof of mouth for the last few days

Patient Data

Age: 56
Gender: Female

Typical appearance of hyperostosis in the midline hard palate either side of the suture. It is of no significance apart from patient concern (usually about cancer) and occasional denture rubbing leading to ulceration.  It is the palatine version of torus mandibularis.
