CT scan done for evaluation of pyrexia of unknown origin

Patient Data

Age: 44 years
Gender: Male

The accessory right upper lobe bronchus shows direct branching from the main tracheal stem. This physiological variant is called bronchus suis or pig bronchus ( owing to high prevalence in pig tracheobronchial tree)

Case Discussion

CT findings are compatible with bronchus suis.
