Case Discussion

Normal appearances of a tracheal stent.   Bronchial stents may also be inserted even to segmental levels.

Although they may be deployed for benign indications, stents are most commonly employed in regaining airway patency secondary to malignant compression.

Tracheal stents may easily be overlooked as they project over the dense thoracic spine/mediastinum.
