Gender: Female
ct

Irregular soft tissue projection from the right postero-lateral mid trachea at T1 with luminal narrowing of about 30%. Normal cartilage.

Case Discussion

The CT scan demonstrates a tracheal web of the acquired type which generally occurs following prolonged or traumatic intubation1.

Congenital webs commonly present in children.

The patient was managed conservatively as she had no significant breathing difficulty. About 5 weeks later most of her symptoms had resolved apart from persistent mildly increased noise while breathing.
