Tracheo-oesophageal fistula

Newborn baby with increased secretions and difficulty breathing. Unable to pass nasogastric tube.

Patient Data

Age: 1 day

The nasogastric tube is coiled in the upper oesophagus. The bowel is well aerated in keeping with a proximal atresia and distal fistula.

Case Discussion

When the bowel is aerated it is due to a proximal atresia with a distal fistula.
