Tracheo-oesophageal fistula: H type

Case contributed by A.Prof Frank Gaillard

Patient Data

Age: Infant
Gender: Male

Consolidation and atelectasis bilaterally.

Barium swallow demonstrates a large H-type tracheo-oesophageal fistula. Note how the fistula actually slants a little downwards from the trachea to the oesophagus, leading some authors to refer to this as an N-type fistula.
