Presentation

An athlete with a sore left hip for two weeks. No acute injury. Plays cricket and soccer.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male

Bone marrow and surrounding soft tissue edema at the anterior superior iliac spine involving the sartorius muscle origin without separation as may occur in an acute avulsion injury.

Case Discussion

Overuse-type injury in an immature skeleton with traction of the sartorius tendon at the ASIS apophysis.
