Transependymal oedema

Case contributed by A.Prof Frank Gaillard

Presentation

Increasing headaches.

Modality: MRI

.

Case Discussion

Single FLAIR image at the level of the lateral and third ventricle demonstrates prominent increased T2 signal, which in the setting of hydrocephalus is consistent with transependymal oedema

It should not be confused with ependymitis granularis which is a normal finding.
