Transependymal edema

Case Discussion

Single FLAIR image at the level of the lateral and third ventricle demonstrates prominent increased T2 signal, which in the setting of hydrocephalus is consistent with transependymal edema

It should not be confused with ependymitis granularis which is a normal finding.
