Reducible transfascial herniation of the anterior tibialis muscle.
The video was recorded during dorsiflexion of the foot (active contraction of tibialis anterior muscle). A mushroom shaped isoechoic lesion protrudes ventrally to the muscle through a small fascial defect.
Case Discussion
Transfascial muscle hernias can be detected by dynamic ultrasound examination.
These may be silent on MRI as not necessarily protruding out without muscle contraction.
