Foci of acute restricted diffusion are noted involving both hippocampi. No edema or hemorrhage. An incidental right lateral ventricle arachnoid cyst is noted.
Case Discussion
The patient presenting with an acute history of loss of memory underwent MRI showing restricted diffusion in both hippocampi consistent with transient global amnesia. The patient was followed up to see the resolution of his MRI finding and improvement with therapy. Other causes were ruled out.
