Tiny foci of restricted diffusion are seen on DWI and ADC map in the lateral hippocampi bilaterally.
No other clinically significant parenchymal abnormality is demonstrated.
Bilateral maxillary sinuses mucosal thickening noted.
Case Discussion
The case presents typical imaging features of transient global amnesia including hippocampal areas of restricted diffusion.
While emboli could give similar appearances and potential differential diagnosis, no neurological deficit clinically was appreciated.
