Presentation
Known case of liver cirrhosis, underwent radiofrequency ablation for focal hepatic lesions.
Patient Data
Arterioportal shunt between the left hepatic artery and left branch of portal vein, responsible for the patchy abnormal enhancement of the left hepatic lobe. Successful ablation of two hepatic focal lesions, no viable tumoral tissue detected.
Case Discussion
Transient hepatic attenuation differences may occur, among other things, as a result of portal vein thrombosis or arteriovenous (AV) fistula, which alter the regional blood supply to the liver. In this case ,the AV fistula developed either due to direct infiltration of hepatocellular carcinoma or as a consequence of radiofrequency ablation.
