Bone marrow contusions are seen involving the anterolateral aspect of the lateral femoral condyle and the medial patellar facet. The patella is currently in a normal position.
Partial tear of the patellar attachment of the medial patellofemoral ligament and medial patellar retinaculum.
A rounded high T2 signal in the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus not reaching articular surfaces, suggestive of a grade I signal.
Case Discussion
A classic picture of transient lateral patellar dislocation, showing kissing bone bruises and abnormal medial patellar retinaculum with joint effusion. The patella can be seen in a normal position or laterally displaced.
