Transient lesion of the splenium

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Male

There is oval T2-hyperintense and T1-iso-hypointense focus located at the splenium of the corpus corpus callosum, demonstrating high DWI signal with corresponding low ADC values. The remainder of the brain is unremarkable. No susceptibility artefact seen on T2*.

Case Discussion

This patient has no neurological deficit. There are many possible etiologies for transient splenial callosal lesions. This may include:
