Subchondral insufficiency fracture - femoral head

Extensive marrow edema is seen involving the left femoral head and extending to the inter-trochanteric region of the femoral neck.
The femoral head shows subcortical curvilinear hypointensity, denoting subcortical insufficiency fracture.
Associated mild left hip joint effusion.
