Transient synovitis of the hip

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Right hip pain growing while walking. No history of trauma or fever.

Patient Data

Age: 8 years
Gender: Female

MRI images show mild effusion around the neck of the femur on the right side. On the left side, no effusion is seen. 

Muscles and bony structures are normal 

Case Discussion

Most probable diagnosis is transient synovitis of the hip, due to clinical and radiological information. 

Also septic arthritis must be in the differential diagnosis.
