Case Discussion

Transient tachypnea of the newborn is a common cause of neonatal respiratory distress, and is related to retention of amniotic fluid in the lungs post delivery. It most often occurs in neonates who are delivered by C-section.

The condition is typically self limiting, usually resolving within the first 48 hours of life.
