Case Discussion

This case demonstrates the importance of scanning the entire urinary tract on three phases with the contrast enhanced phase being arterial (as currently recommended) and not portal venous.

Detecting large lesions is easy but small lesions are best seen when enhancing maximally - makes our interpretation easier and hence benefits the patient.

Cystoscopy is not infallible - see case elsewhere of missed TCC which was shown in a bladder diverticulum.
