Gender: Male

There is an enlargement of the cardiac silhouette with narrowing of the superior mediastinum.

An image of an egg on a string is superimposed on this chest radiograph to clarify the appearance of the egg on a string sign of transposition of the great arteries, with enlargement of the cardiac silhouette and atrophy of the thymus leading to narrowing of the upper mediastinum.
