Fluoroscopy

Patient is held in a Mayfield headrest, and a nasal speculum is in situ, resting against the anterior wall of the sphenoid sinus.  Brainlab probe has been placed on the face of the sella, prior to opening into the pituitary fossa. 

Case Discussion

This image has been obtained during microscopic transsphenoidal hypophysectomy for a pituitary macroadenoma.
