The patient attended for assessment of the VP shunt tube function.

Patient Data

Age: 5 years
Gender: Male

A VP shunt tube is seen inserted through the right parietal bone with its tip seen at the midline. 

The fourth ventricle is enlarged while the remaining ventricular system appears normal.

Case Discussion

Trapped 4th ventricle (isolated 4th ventricle) as a complication after lateral ventricular shunting.
