Axial non-contrast

Multiple intracranial hemorrhages:
- left temporal parenchymal hemorrhage
- left acute subdural hematoma is stable
- bilateral traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage
- right temporal extra-axial collection
- left tentorium cerebelli and anterior falx cerebri subdural hematomas
- right temporal parenchymal hematomas with surrounding edema
Right ICP monitor is noted with the tip in the region of the right basal ganglia with surrounding hypodensity representing edema.
Pneumocephalus. Left-sided calvarial and basal skull fractures are not well appreciated on these thick slices. Left mastoid and middle ear opacification.
Case Discussion
This is a case of a severe traumatic brain injury with monitoring of intracranial pressure considered standard of care, although there is a lack of data supporting this.
