The left lens is dislocated and seen at the inferior aspect of the posterior chamber. No definite vitreous hemorrhage, ruptured globe, retinal detachment or choroidal detachment.
The right globe is intact. The optic nerves are tortuous with distended optic sheaths. The extraocular muscles are normal in size. No retrobulbar hematoma. No orbital fractures.
Case Discussion
This case represents a traumatic posterior dislocation of the left lens.
Non-traumatic lens dislocation can occur in connective tissue diseases like Marfan's syndrome, Ehler-Danlos syndrome and homocystinuria.
