Post-lower dorsal spine fixation, clear malalignment of anterior elements seen with an anterosuperior corner end plate fracture of inferior vertebra. the accompanying retropulsion is indenting the ventral cord. There is diffuse reduction in volume of dorsal cord starting from T5-6 level right up to conus medullaris with diffuse T2 hyperintense signal within in keeping with traumatic myelomalacia.
This is an example of devastating sequelae of cord injury in a young male. The reduction in volume accompanied by the intracord high signals with disruption of normal grey and white matter is evidence of this.
