Presentation

Ulnar sided wrist pain

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

The study reveals central perforation of the triangular fibrocartilage disc proper.

Located fluid/ganglion cyst measuring approx. 3.5x5.8mm is seen at inferior aspect of pisiform.

Tendinosis of extensor carpi ulnaris is seen.

 

Case Discussion

Findings are suggestive of central perforation of triangular fibrocartilage disc proper (Palmer 1a).

The ganglion cyst (adjacent to pisiform) and extensor carpi ulnaris tendinosis, however, can also contribute to pain.
