There is an exophyte of the posterior part of the olecranon - at the site of triceps tendon insertion. No other abnormal findings.
Case Discussion
Reactive bone changes may occur at tendinous insertion sites about the elbow. These changes may develop into discrete projections as are often seen at the insertion of the triceps brachii on the olecranon process. The deposition of calcium hydroxyapatite within periarticular soft tissues, predominantly tendons, is commonly referred to as calcific tendinopathy 4.
